Min hiervan was egter tot nou bekend of in hanteerbare vorm beskikbaar.

Anna Neethling-Pohl made an enormous contribution in the arena of culture, theatre, literature (especially Afrikaans) and radio. Not only did she help lay the foundation for future generations in those fields, but also very actively plied her trade. Very little of her contribution is recognised today, however, with many of the younger generations unaware of her impact. Very little has to date been available in readable and accessible format in this regard.

Cobus Ferreira knew Pohl well and was also in the privileged position of being able to edit the diary which she kept of her Portuguese trip. In this publication he and Schalk le Roux provide a detailed discussion of her descent, background and various appearances. They also add additional value to the diary by providing - in annotated format - comprehensive details of the history, environment and conditions against which the diary is set.
